2020 Student Film Festival
Plymouth Public Schools and Plymouth EDTV partnered with the Plymouth 400 to host a student Film Festival highlighting student voices. Elementary, Middle, and High School were each tasked with creating a 2-3 minute video highlighting the theme.
We received nearly 50 submissions for the Festival and the Runner-Up and Winner from each level was announced at a ceremony on December 5th, 2019. How long should my video be?
Your video should be about 2-3 minutes, but cannot exceed 3 minutes long. Videos that exceed 3 minutes in duration will not be considered for prizes.
How many people can be part of my group?
While there are no restrictions with how many people can be part of your group, we advise you to keep it to a maximum of 5 people (excluding elementary submissions)
Can I work on this during the school day?
You may work on your video during the school day if the curriculum or your teacher allows.
I want to use music in my video, do you have any resources I can use?

What are the prizes?
Specific prizes will be revealed the night of the Film Festival. Some prizes will include a Go Pro and various filming equipment.
How do I submit my finished video?
You can submit your finished video project by uploading the file to our submission form on http://www.plymouthedtv.com/
Can I change or resubmit my video after I submitted it?
No. You should make sure that your video is complete and to your satisfaction before submitting it. Remember, you have until November 1st.
If more than one person is part of my winning group, will we all win individual prizes?
Unfortunately, not every member of the group will win an individual prize, but the prize can be shared amongst group members.
Do elementary school students need to fill out their own planning document/do it on their own?
Elementary students will work collaboratively as a class to complete their video projects.
When and where will the ceremony take place?
The ceremony will take place at Plymouth North High School on December 5th at 6:30 PM.
Will all of the videos that were submitted be played during the ceremony on December 5th?
All submitted videos will be a part of the Film Festival celebration but depending on the number of submissions may not all be viewed the night of. Entries will be included as part of the 2020 celebrations, and highlighted by EDTV.
Can I use copyrighted content in my video?
Copyrighted materials are NOT allowed in your videos.
Do I need to fill out any paperwork to participate?
Yes, paperwork will need to be completed in order to participate in the film festival. Required planning documents for your grade level can be found on plymouthedtv.com/2020.
WIll I be notified that my video has been submitted?
You will automatically be notified that your video has been submitted via the email you used to complete the Google Form. Make sure that you use the right email and that it is spelled correctly.
